Joseph R. "Beau" Biden III Memorial Scholarship
Remembering Beau (1969-2015)

Beau Biden touched many lives through his years of service as well as his genuine kindness, goodness and sense of fun. At the University of Pennsylvania, he was a loyal Castle brother and remained close with many friends from the Penn community. The University of Pennsylvania and The Tau Chapter of Psi Upsilon announce the creation of the Joseph R. "Beau" Biden III Memorial Scholarship to provide financial support to an undergraduate in the College of Arts and Sciences who would otherwise be unable to meet the cost of a Penn education, with first preference for a qualified student who demonstrates a similar passion and commitment as Beau had to serving others through civic engagement and leadership in public service.
Why scholarships matter?
Penn's generous all-grant financial aid policy provides a world-class education to talented students, and allows them to graduate without a prohibitive debt burden. This year, more than 47 percent of students in the incoming freshman class at Penn received financial aid, with grant packages averaging close to $44,000.

Scholarships like the Joseph R. "Beau" Biden III Endowed Scholarship help make an Ivy League education accessible for bright students regardless of their financial backgrounds.
