Happy, Healthy Hearts for Jaclyn

Coach Jaclyn and the Devils, taken at her first game after recovery.
Our Motivation
In September 2014, our soccer team, the Devils, was affected by what could have been a terrible tragedy. Instead, we learned about courage, teamwork, strength and love. While enjoying a fall practice, our coach, Jaclyn McGlone, suffered a cardiac arrest. Our team came together and got help as quickly as possible. Jaclyn was taken to the hospital and though it was a long and difficult process, she made a full recovery. We are extremely grateful to have Coach Jaclyn back with us and wanted to do something to give back and raise awareness about this project. We hope that everyone has the same chance of surviving cardiac arrest as Jaclyn, by having someone nearby who knows how to deliver cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Our Project
The Mobile CPR Project Fund, created by Dr. Ben Abella at Penn Medicine, will provide free CPR training to people in Philadelphia, who otherwise would not know how to deliver this life-saving act. Many people who live in inner-city, low-income areas do not have the opportunity to have this training and when a friend or family member suffers a similar cardiac arrest, all they can do is call 911 and wait. We hope that by contributing to this program, we will help Dr. Abella and his team give many others the same chance of survival as Jaclyn.
Our Training
In addition, we have become CPR certified as a team, along with many of our family members. We are working hard to help coordinate and administer additional CPR classes in our community and make this lifesaving information available to everyone.
