TEAM IT'S FOR THE DOGS

Who We Are
Team It's For the Dogs is a small group of people whose lives have been impacted by the devastation of canine cancer in some way. This endeavor started in 2008 but the formal name of our group was developed a couple of years later.
We participate in and put on events and dedicate all funds raised to projects that target canine cancer in some form.
To date we have participated in 5k races, held obedience matches, held agility trials, put on auctions, and have run crossfit "bring a friend" days.
Every year we look for new ways to expand our outreach and continue to make an impact.

Canine Cancer Facts
Some reasons why we do what we do
  • Cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death in dogs
  • Over half of dogs age 10 and over will die from cancer (AVMA)
  • Cancer affects one out of every three dogs. Over half of them will die.
  • Every 5 seconds, a dog is diagnosed with cancer
  • There are nearly 100 types of animal cancer
  • There are 6 million cases of canine cancer diagnosed each year
  • According to the Texas A&M Veterinary School, dogs have 35 times as much skin cancer as do humans, 4 times as many breast tumors, 8 times as much bone cancer, and twice as high an incidence of leukemia
