My Cancer Journey and Hope for the Future
Presently, there is no cure for the cancer that I was diagnosed with 11 years ago, but advancements in new treatments are being discovered every year thanks to research. The drug used to treat my cancer was approved by the FDA just 10 years prior to my diagnosis. Without philanthropic funds for research none of this would be possible.
The FDA just voted in support of the approval of CAR-T cell immunotherapy, a treatment developed by Dr. June and his team to treat pediatric and young adult leukemia. The result of this treatment has been nothing short of a miracle for many clinical trial patients. Researchers like Dr. Carl June relied on philanthropy to drive innovation, and scientists are focused on translating this breakthrough for blood cancers to benefit other types of cancer. This year, all funds raised by us will go to similar research being conducted by my physician, Dr. Steven Schuster, at Penn to treat lymphoma.
Last year, thanks to your generous partnership, we raised over $40,000. We are asking once again for your support and partnership, because someday, is today!
