ZC4H2 Research Foundation: Hope through science
ZC4H2 Associated Rare Disorders (ZARD) is an extremely rare genetic condition which affects people in many ways and has a profound effect on their quality of life as well as that of their families.

The ZC4H2 Research Foundation aims to promote and support the development of viable therapies and standards of clinical care for the treatment of ZARD, in the hope of improving the lives of those affected
by it, and to be a central hub of information for the ZARD community.

What is ZC4H2 Associated Rare Disorders ("ZARD")?
ZC4H2 Associated Rare Disorders (ZARD) is an ultra-rare genetic condition with central and peripheral nervous system involvement caused by a harmful mutation in the ZC4H2 gene.

The ZC4H2 gene is located on the X chromosome and encodes the ZC4H2 protein essential for normal development.

Boys and girls can both be affected by ZARD and have different symptoms in various severities. ZARD is a spectrum rather than a defined group of symptoms. ZARD has been diagnosed in children of all ethnicities with cases found all over the world.
The Million Dollar Bike Ride: Our 1st public fundraising event on June 11, 2022
The Million Dollar Bike Ride is one of the most prominent and important public fundraising events for Rare Diseases. We are extremely privileged to have been selected to take part in the 9th Million Dollar Bike Ride on Saturday 11th June 2022 in Philadelphia.

The Million Dollar Bike Ride is organized by the Orphan Disease Center of the University of Pennsylvania. It aims to raise funds for rare disease research.
The ZC4H2 Foundation will aim to raise $100,000. $30,000 will be matched dollar by dollar by the Orphan Disease Center in support for a pilot research project for ZC4H2 Associated Rare Disorders.
