About Eats and Beats

Eats and Beats is a community event including a locally-sourced meal prepared by our high school interns, performances by our youth and local artists, and a raffle. Guests will be treated to a 4-course meal featuring ingredients donated by local farms, restaurants and businesses. The proceeds from the event go towards sending our youth to conferences to help them learn more about socially just food systems. We hope you'll donate and join us on April 9th at the School of the Future (4021 Parkside Ave) to support our youth!

The Agatston Urban Nutrition Initiative (AUNI) is a program of the Netter Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania that engages, educates and empowers youth, university students, and community members to promote healthy lifestyles and build a just and sustainable food system. Suggested Donation - $35/per person

Please donate what you can. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Contact Yvonne at yvonnema@sas.upenn.edu. if you are interested in a group discount for organizations focused on food justice, youth, and/or located in West Philadelphia.

All of the money raised goes directly towards our youth programming. Last year, we raised $5,500 to send our youth to Detroit and North Carolina to meet community members from across the country who work towards food justice. With each additional dollar earned, we open our kids up to new opportunities to collaborate, learn, and grow as leaders. Some things to look forward to at Eats and Beats include:

Eats and Beats is the Agatston Urban Nutrition Initiative's annual community meal and fundraiser hosted by our high school interns. This year the event will be at one of our partner schools, High School of the Future (4021 Parkside Ave).
