Penn Alliance for Higher Education and Democracy (AHEAD)
AHEAD Microgiving Campaign

For many years, we - as individual scholars and practitioners - have been conducting research and working alongside college and university leaders and public policymakers with the goal of creating more accessible, more effective, and more democratic higher education institutions.

We launched Penn AHEAD (Alliance for Higher Education and Democracy) in January 2014 to increase the reach and impact of our individual efforts.
AHEAD is a collaborative enterprise that involves seven Penn GSE faculty. We seek to advance the contributions of higher education in the U.S. and other nations through four sets of inter-related activities:
· producing high-quality research that identifies effective policies and practices;
· building the capacity of higher education institutions through technical assistance;
· providing short-term training and development for higher education leaders; and
· leading the conversation about the importance of - and effective approaches to - advancing these public contributions.
This Microgiving campaign is designed to support new and emerging initiatives that advance AHEAD's mission:
Roundtables that convene leaders to understand complex problems and their solutions.

Visiting Scholar Program that annually offers a scholar/practitioner a professional home, collegial support a travel stipend and office space to conduct research and generate new thinking about higher education's public purposes.

What's AHEAD: Key Trends quarterly poll that generates timely information useful to practitioners, researchers, and others concerned about the future of higher education. Poll results to date appear on AHEAD's website: http://www.ahead-penn.org/leading-conversation and Facebook page.

Please visit AHEAD's website at http://www.ahead-penn.org/ for additional information.
