CASTLEMAN WARRIORS' RIDE FOR A CURE

WHAT IS CASTLEMAN DISEASE?
Castleman disease (CD) is a rare inflammatory disorder that occurs in people of all ages. It causes hyper-activation of the immune system which often results in multiple-organ dysfunction, leading to death within 3-10 years of diagnosis.
OUR MISSION
Castleman Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN) is applying an innovative approach to accelerate CD research, treatment, and patient care through global collaboration, strategic investments in research, and supportive resources for patients and their loved ones.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
NEW Ways to Participate in the Million Dollar Bike Ride!

The 2022 Million Dollar Bike Ride will include two participant levels for Rare Disease Teams:
Grant Match Fundraising Team: Teams must raise a minimum of $20k to receive a dollar for dollar match to be used for a 1-year pilot grant. The ODC will match up to a maximum of $30k, but your team can raise beyond this maximum to fund your pilot grant. Team must include a total of 10 participants, including cyclists and volunteers.

Eligibility for Grant Match Fundraising Teams' future participation for the Million Dollar Bike Ride will be determined by the following factors. Please note, these guidelines are subject to change:

Performance: The 25 top performing teams in the 2022 MDBR will be automatically grandfathered into the 2023 MDBR. Performance is based on a) number of dollars raised and b) number of participating cyclists. Teams will be ranked by these two factors, and the top 25 will automatically receive a spot in the 2023 event.

Registration
Cyclists:

Registration: there are two ways to participate in this event. All will be required to sign a liability waiver. Anyone 16 YO or older can participate as a cyclist.

Registration WITHOUT Fundraising:

Early Bird Registration Fee: $60

After April 1st: $80

Day of Ride: $100

100% of your registration dollars goes towards your team's research grant

Registration with fundraising: registration is $25 and requires a minimum fundraising commitment of $250. It is expected that the minimum is met by June 11, 2022.

*No matter which option you chose, make sure to choose Team Castleman as your team so that your efforts and fundraising are linked to the CDCN.

2022 Million Dollar Bike Ride Event Policies:

Affiliation with Disease-Focused Teams: At the time of registration, each person will be asked to affiliate with a Disease-Focused Team based on a drop-down menu of registered Teams. If a person does not wish to affiliate with a specific team, they can register as a "Rare Rider" who is unaffiliated with any particular disease team. The money raised by the Rare Riders will be split amongst disease teams.

*100% of registration and fundraising money will go to the Disease Team's research fund.
  • All donations matched dollar-for-dollar
  • Money will help fund clinical trial studies
